Out of the box accuracy. I went looking for an "off the shelf" rifle in 338 Lapua that could print tight without modification and here I got lucky on my first attempt. Having owned other Christensen rifles and components, I had no doubt about quality, but I had my doubts as to performance per dollar when getting this much rifle for the money. My opinion is that this rifle is definitely a bargain at 2800 bucks. I have only fired factory ammo to this point - and obviously building a pile of brass for loading work. My suspicion is that with some load development and seating depth experimentation this rifle will end up printing easily inside a half minute every time. I have printed a couple of sub 1/2" groups however there is almost always inconsistency in factory loaded ammo that i will be removing through my own load work going down the stretch. This rifle comes loaded with many of the features that you would end up making mods to create on a bare bones rifle/stock. The 20moa receiver rail was a bonus for me as i have a 20 moa mount and wanted a total of 40 for use with a Steiner 5-25x56 military. the flush cups are a big bonus and the adjustable length of pull/comb are an absolute necessity for me. Some people don't care to have fixed adjustments for these features however if the shooter sets up the LOP/Comb correctly, he can utilize the same setting in any shooting position and never need to adjust. Like every other touch-feel feature on a piece of equipment, everyone finds what works best on their own. The muzzle break is nice and i happen to like it with all four top gas port screws out allowing downward barrel force during recoil allowing me to stay on target much better. Take the time to experiment with this as you will notice POI shift when removing/replacing these.
I received this rifle with two forward sling swivel studs and have switched to a rail section instead for my bipod setup. Some of these rifles ship with rail, others with studs - ask about this when you are ordering. Finally, the rifles weight - I can tell you that I shoot along side of a couple of other guys with heavy rifles (Macmillan, Sako,Armalite) and they all have envy over this aspect of my BA tactical. There is no question that this is as light as you would want to go in this caliber, however everyone who shoots it is left absolutely slack jawed at its lack of felt recoil. I would put this rifles recoil in the same category as a standard rem 700 .30-06 w/o muzzle device. it's pretty tame considering i'm sending 250gr projectiles at 3050fps. All in all, Christensen has done a fantastic job on this rifle and while i'm nobodys "brand loyalist", its hard not to give their name some respect once again for their workmanship.

This is one intense, entry level precision rifle (.)
Its' out of the box accuracy is formidable with FAR more expensive customs that I've shot next to. Factory 300gr Lapua & Berger ammo will leave you speechless. The only two tweaks I ended up doing was having an Atlas front and rear rail mounted where the swivel studs were and I had the action glassed in with Marine Tex Grey. After that my BA .338 was topped with a Spuhr sp3601 and a Swarovski X5i, 5-25x56. Out front sits an Atlas BT46 put together by LaRue with one of their QD mounts. The side flush cups hold my Armageddon rifle strap with QD mounts and there you have it... an absolute insane ELR hybrid hunt/scout rifle. Fully dressed and fully loaded, weighing in around 13lbs.
When you adjust the muzzle break properly your felt recoil is somewhere between a 30-06 and 7mm. A joy to watch peoples reaction when they realize what caliber and weight vs felt recoil and accuracy This platform delivers. Haven't stretched it out by any means yet but Zeroed at 200yrds and the last 3-shot grouping at 600yrds was a fraction under 3/4moa.
SO YA! I'm happy AF!
