Blaser R8 Rifles

Blaser R8 Rifles

The Blaser R8 is a modular rifle system that can be configured to meet any need, whether it be hunting Cape buffalo in South Africa or mountain goats in the Rockies. The German engineered R8 straight-pull bolt action rifle is the most popular hunting rifle in Europe, and it’s not hard to see why. The R8 is fast, accurate, safe and versatile—the makings of any great hunting rifle.

The modular nature of this rifle requires that it be bought in components and then assembled—don’t let the thought of self-assembly deter you. The design of the Blaser R8 rifle allows the rifle to be quickly and intuitively assembled from its basic components.

When buying a Blaser R8 rifle you must purchase all four of the components below to have a fully functional rifle. If you are unsure if your order is correct, feel free to contact us to ensure all rifle components on your order are compatible.

Don’t see the rifle you’re looking for? Blaser R8 rifles are normally bought by component and then assembled. You will need to choose a stock receiver, barrel, bolt housing, fire control and bolt head. You can also check out this rifle R8 Rifle Configurator from Blaser to help build your dream rifle.

Blaser R8 Modular Components

Barrel

Blaser R8 rifles can be configured in over 40 calibers, once you choose the caliber then you must decide on your preferences in regards to barrel profile, barrel length, and open sight options. Blaser R8 rifle barrels come with a magazine for the selected barrel caliber.

Stock Receiver

Stock receivers are the serialized components of Blaser R8 rifles and are available in a variety materials and styles. If you’re looking into a wooden stock receiver there are wood grades available from Grade 1 to Grade 11. Keep in mind that if you don’t see what you want, give us a call and we’ll do our best to get it for you.

Bolt Housing

Blaser R8 rifle bolt housings are not a caliber specific part like the barrel or bolt head. The bolt housing contains the Blaser R8 cocking/safety control, the firing pin, and bolt head. The bolt housing allows you to cycle as well as cock and decock the rifle. The bolt housing has options for right and left handed shooters and allows for optional upgrades for the bolt knobs. Optional Illumination control is available with bolt housings if you intend on purchasing a Blaser Infinity riflescope.

Bolt Head

Bolt heads for the Blaser R8 Rifle are specific to what Blaser refers to as their caliber groups. The groups are categorized by the sizes of the cartridges in each caliber group, to find out the caliber group for a particular cartridge . Bolt Heads are also specific to the handedness of the bolt housing. For example, if you plan to purchase and assemble a .30-06 Blaser R8 rifle for a right handed shooter you would want a Standard Right Bolt Head. If you have any questions about the urge that you call us to ensure you purchase the correct bolt head for your Blaser R8 rifle.
