FN Herstal rifles combine innovation, durability, accuracy, and a rich firearms production lineage, ultimately resulting in superior reliability to tend to the task at hand, whether it's recreation, competition, or a tactical application. It's little wonder that organizations such as the FBI, the U.S. Secret Service, and USSOCOM (to name but three of the many military and law enforcement across the world) have come to rely on FN for their needs.
FN's SCAR, M249S
, and FN 15 series are semi-automatic analogs of rifles that are in active use by military personnel, in some cases including USSOCOM. The Ballista represents FN's entry into the "PSR" arena, featuring the ability to switch calibers in the field (in less than 30-seconds) between .308 Win, .300 Win Mag, and .338 Lapua Magnum (standard chambering for the Ballista). The SPR is based on the bolt-action platform that was ultimately contracted by the FBI for sharp-shooting. The PS90 is the civilian version of the P90, FN's answer to NATO's call for a more effective personal defense weapon than those which fire the 9mm cartridge; firing the FN-designed 5.7x28mm cartridge, the P90 is employed by law enforcement and military forces in numerous countries.
The FNAR, with versions that have been designed and marketed for hunting, defensive, and competitive shooting applications, remains a time-proven, semi-automatic design (based on Browning's BAR) with an out-of-the-box guaranteed accuracy of 1-MOA or better.
Regardless of the application, it's accurate to say that FN's lineup is a great place to begin the search for your next rifle acquisition. Few firearm producers can match FN's track record.
