Description
The MCX Rattler was originally designed at the request of the US Special Operations Command, who needed a new Personal Defense Weapon (PDW) to replace the MP5. It features a groundbreaking design that takes largely based on Sig Sauer’s renowned MCX modular rifle platform, which utilizes a short-stroke recoil gas piston operating system. What separates Sig Sauer's MCX platform from other AR/M4 style rifles is the recoil system that totally eliminates the need for a buffertube, making the MCX Rattler more compact than any AR/M4 rifle ever produced. In the place of a buffertube, the MCX Rattler Pistol features a small picatinny rail, allowing accessories such as folding rifle stock (NFA paperwork required) or folding pistol brace to be installed. Other features of the MCX Rattler Pistol include a full length picatinny rail, a free floating M-LOK handguard, and a low-profile PDW pistol grip for enhanced ergonomics.
