This hammer-fired SAO pistol is essentially a miniature 1911, featuring the same controls and intuitive operation – these similarities create a better shooting experience for someone already acquainted with a 1911. Like all of Kimber’s 1911-style pistols, the Micro 9 Rapide Dusk is built with exacting standards for quality, reliability, and accuracy. This is evident in the short, smooth pull of the SAO trigger, as well as the tight tolerances in the slide and barrel, both of which are precision machined and given performance enhancing augmentations. The slide has been optimized with stepped cocking serrations for more confidence and control when chambering a round, clearing the weapon, or performing a press-checks, and lightening cuts promote a faster lock time. The barrel is outfitted with a sleek Bronze finish, not only does this give the weapon a distinctive appearance, but also delivers extreme durability and a long service life. To reduce weight without compromising strength, the Micro 9 Rapide Dusk’s frame is constructed using high strength aluminum, and is given an attractive KimPro finish.
Other features of the Micro 9 Rapide Dusk include superior ergonomics. Aggressive texturing on the grips and front/back strap promote better control over the weapon, and recesses behind the trigger accommodate proper positioning of the shooter’s thumb and trigger finger. In addition, the Micro 9 Rapide Dusk is outfitted with flared ejection port for flawless ejection and a beveled magazine well for fast, positive loading.
