Description

The Ares G2 20-60x85 Angled Spotting Scope was designed for two proposes: advanced optical quality and ease of use. It features an apochromatic lens system and UHD extra low dispersion glass to deliver an image with next to no chromatic fringe with enhanced contrast, sharpness and color definition. The optical quality is improved even more thanks to its BaK4 prism with an Enhanced Spectral Prism (ESP) dielectric coating. In addition, its variable power eyepiece can be swapped out with a fixed power eyepiece that has a MIL ranging reticle to help determine distances.

Features of the Ares G2 20-60x85 Angled Spotting Scope:

  • Interchangeable eyepiece
  • Apochromatic lens system
  • UHD extra low dispersion glass
  • BaK4 prism

I initially bought the argos but was disappointed with its optics. So I decided to upgrade to this model and the optical performance is really great. Using it at extremely far distances of 500 yards or more I could not detect any significant chromatic aberration. For the optics alone it gets a five stars. However I would have liked the build quality to be slightly better than the Argo‘s considering I am spending more than double the price. The argos felt like a more expensive scope than this one. The magnification ring had a slight scratching noise and felt like the grease was sticking (which has since gone away). I did not have this issue with Argos and on that unit it was incredibly smooth. I have had two Ares scopes now and both had that scratching and sticking grease problem. I hope it goes away with use (did after awhile) and also the focus ring had a slight click when you reach the end of its range. These aren’t huge deals but it made the scope feel worse than the argos did. I would have thought that upgrading to this model would have come with upgrades elsewhere than just the glass. The build quality is still good just wish it was better than the cheaper unit. If I had gotten the ares before the argos then the build quality would have appeared great. I only had some disappointment because I had the cheaper one first. Still a good scope but just know that all that changes between units is the glass.

Europtic ty for fast shipping Online reviews are on points on this . If your budget is around 800 , look no further ! This spotting scope rock . After I purchased , I was hesitant to upgrade for the cronus . When it arrived , I took it to 5th story building and I was impressed with the quality out to 1800 yards 40x especially for the price point . I may want to get more clarity down the road , but my purpose is to spot a shot at 1500 Max , ares is definitely a keeper .

This bad boy works, I'm sitting on my roof like a creeper looking at the water tower 962 yards away, can see the silo door handle on top from here. With the naked eyes no. My s21 ultra has that 100x zoom, well 100x zoom vs 60x zoom on the scope, digital vs optical. The ares comes out on top by quite a large margin. Was looking at cherries on a tree 116 yards away. With the phone could see the leaves at 70x zoom but you wouldn't know the cherries were there will at 40x you can count every berry on that brance in pretty good detail. So thats near, far, where eveeeer you are.
