Named for the grasshopper mouse, a carnivorous rodent that is known for eating scorpions, the GHM9-SD is a high-performance, limited edition PDW that excels at close to mid-range engagements. What sets GHM9-SD apart from the other firearms in the GHM series is a unique integral suppressor system. It features a reduced back pressure suppressor and a barrel with special porting forward of the chamber. The barrel porting is designed to lower the velocity of supersonic ammunition down to subsonic speeds, which allows the suppressor to produce the lowest sound signature possible – all without the need for special ammunition. The GHM9-SD’s forend is also oversized, allowing the majority of the suppressor to remain beneath the handguard for a more compact overall profile.
The GHM9-SD’s operating system utilizes a direct blowback design with a built-in recoil buffer spring. All of the controls on the GHM9 are ambidextrous and the charging handle can be positioned on the right or left hand side. The upper receiver of the B&T GHM9 is one solid piece and features. The GHM9 from B&T is an incredible PDW mixing Swiss workmanship and reliability with features that similar firearms fail to include.
