Description
Desert Tech delivers a multi-caliber platform in a lightweight package with the SRS A2 Bolt Action Rifle. Its modular design allows calibers to be quickly swapped by simply replacing the bolt, barrel, and magazine. Caliber options include .308, 6.5 Creedmoor, 300 Win Mag, and 338 Lapua, and the conversion process doesn't require special tools. The SRS A2 utilizes a bullpup design, giving the rifle a short overall length without sacrificing the terminal performance of a full-length barrel. Overall length is reduced even further thanks to an innovative telescoping bolt design where the main body of the bolt is housed in an outer sleeve, which also results in shorter bolt stroke. The bolt also features 6 locking lugs arranged 2 layers with 3 locking lugs in the front and 3 locking lugs in the rear. The use of more locking lugs results more contact surfaces and greater lock-up consistency, which translates into more accuracy. Another accuracy-enhancing feature is its barrel-clamping mechanism. Instead of a single barrel clamp, it uses 4 smaller clamps, this reduces stress placed on the barrel when installed and provides more consistent clamping, thus improving accuracy by 30% compared to pervious models.
Other features of the SRS A2 include a less complex trigger system that reduces creep and provides a crisp glass-like break with a shorter reset. The trigger also features a flat face for better ergonomics. Additionally, the SRS A2 is outfitted with an integrated monopod in the stock, allowing the operator to achieve any shooting angle when used in tandem with a bipod.
