Description
The FN SCAR series of short-stroke, gas piston-operated rifles have the distinction of being the semi-auto version of the very rifles carried by USSOCOM. The SCAR 16S and 17S, chambered in 5.56x45mm and 7.62x51mm, respectively, feature cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined, MIL-SPEC, free-floating barrels. Fully ambidextrous, the controls adapt to any shooter in any shooting position. The polymer stock is telescoping, fully adjustable for length of pull and comb height, and folds to the side for storage. The receiver incorporates a MIL-STD 1913 optical rail. Three rails (at 3-, 6-, and 9-o'clock) mounted forward of the magazine well permit the mounting of accessory optics, lights, and lasers. Both models incorporate a gas regulator, enabling the shooter to adjust gas flow for optimal operation when firing with a suppressor. Both models are available in matte black and FDE.

Customer Reviews
Love it for the reliability as evidenced by my own experience with it, numerous reviews and reports from the famous range in Las Vegas, "Battlefield Las Vegas" where they touted this rifle as the most reliable, longest running rifle in their vast arsenal. Not really a fan of the SCAR16's recoil impulse. Shooting in the prone it isn't a big deal but it's definitely different shooting the rifle standing up... so i feel it takes practice to get used to. The Geissele trigger upgrade is a MUST IMHO. The charging handle is probably a must too if you plan on using the rifle to defend lives. The Masada stock upgrade is definitely not a must and i'm not sure i really care that much about that so called upgrade.... it's a looks thing only IMHO. I put a K2 grip on mine recently and the dang thing doesn't really fit so i'm not to thrilled about that... the grip it comes with is just too dang skinny for me. I've had a Steiner T5xi 1-5x on it pretty much for the majority of its life so i can't really comment on accuracy other than to say i've seen people shoot MOA with it. I am putting a different scope on mine because i can no longer tolerate BDC reticles. I love shooting out to longer distances and 1-5x magnification as well as BDC reticles are just a no go for me at this point. That being said, i have had a few dime sized 3 shot groups even with the 1-5x reticle. If you have the money... i'd say definitely add it to your collection based on the rifles reliability, longevity and roughly 1MOA accuracy.
