Hoyt’s AX-2 is a high performance, thoroughly tested compound hunting bow that offers an innovative design and a wide assortment of exclusive features. During its development, the AX-2 was tested using ATA speed tests rather than an IBO speed test. The IBO tests lack a draw length standard and typically provide an inflated feet-per-second rating that archers in the field don’t see. Hoyt’s ATA speed tests utilize standardized draw lengths based on the most common draw lengths used in the field, and provide a significantly more accurate feet-per-second rating typically in the 310 FPS to 340 FPS, depending on the model. The AX-2’s TEC Riser was also subjected to an exhausting 1500 dry fire test and its limbs undergoing a 1000 dry fire test – both of which passed flawlessly (despite these tests, it is NOT recommended to dry fire your bow).
In addition to extensive testing, the AX-2 is equipped with multiple Hoyt exclusive features. The heart of the AX-2 is the HBX Gen 4 Cam System. As the 4th generation of the HBX cams, the HBX Gen 4 provides the same smooth, silent draw as its predecessors while also increasing the FPS in many of the draw length positions across the draw length range. For even greater performance, the HBX Gen 4 cams are compatible with 5 modules with module 5 being for the longest inch of draw length available on a given model and module 1 being the shortest. Each module covers ¾ of an inch in draw length range.
The AX-2 also comes outfitted with Hoyt’s Optimized Geometry which keeps axel-to-axel length to a minimum while offering the stability of a longer axel-to-axel length bow. This makes the AX-2 ideal for blinds, tree saddles, and other compact hunting rigs. The Short Stop Stabilizer is included to ensure proper balance, and is located at a lower position on the bow to lower bow’s center of gravity – the result is a more effective hold with the same effectiveness as a 7-inch stabilizer.
Features of the AX-2 Compound Bow:
- 1500 dry fire test (despite these tests, it is NOT recommended to dry fire your bow)
- HBX Gen 4 Cam System - smooth, silent draw while also increasing the FPS in many of the draw length positions across the draw length range
- Interchangeable Cam Modules – 5 cam modules to increase FPS with module 5 being for the longest inch of draw length available on a given model and module 1 being the shortest
- Optimized Geometry which keeps axel-to-axel length to a minimum while offering the stability of a longer axel-to-axel length bow
- Short Stop Stabilizer – Measure’s only 2-inches and lower’s the bow’s center of gravity for a steadier hold and the same effectiveness as a 7-inch stabilizer
