Made from aircraft grade aluminum, the Leupold Mark AR 35mm IMS designed to provide a excellent mounting option for optics mounted on the AR platfrom. The mount allows for optimal eye relief and provides the correct centerline height for a natural head position when aiming down the sight. The mount uses a 5 bolt design to ensure that the mount remains secured to the rifle during heavy use.

This is a good solid mount for a reasonable price. I used it to replace a Burris P.E.P.R. mount in order to save some weight and bulk. I saved about 4.5 ounces and got rid of a QD lever that was uncomfortably close to my charging handle. I'm very happy with it aside from the difficulty described below. Three out of the five clamp screws were binding in the holes. I'm not sure if the holes weren't threaded all the way to the bottom or if it was assembled with debris in the holes. Either way I had to very gently remove the screws with a wrench, chase the holes with a bottoming tap and straighten out about an 1/8 inch of the threads at the ends of the screws with a thread file in order to get the mount clamped to my rail properly. I expected better from Leupold, but this mount is significantly cheaper than their other similar models, so I guess I got what I paid for.
