I have this mount on my S20 Precision. It's wonderful in every way. The tolerances are tight, it's lightweight, solid, and very well made. Some people may have a question about which rings to use with this 20 MOA mount and a 56mm objective lens. In 34mm, use medium. You'll have plenty room.

Sako made a good design choice machining the integral weaver style rail in the top of the S20 action. Wish they would have made it the full length of action, hence the need for their base. ( Marketing $$) They do offer a 20MOA value in it, so that works out. Other wise you would need Burris Signature rings with the shims, for LR.
Sako, great products, not cheap.

What I am finding with S20, it is the easiest to just get all Sako parts for it and be done with it. Save yourself return hassle buying other options and get the 20MOA rail and rings. They work great, no issues mounting and are holding up well.

I have this base on my S20 Precision. It is well made and provides the perfect eye position for a 56mm objective lens, using medium 34mm rings. Solid and light. I like it a lot.

Good looks, good ergonomics, fits ideally on S20.
The problem is it can not handle 300 win mag recoil. It unlocks and folds with each shot.

Europtic replaced the one I sent back. The new one also had the recoil insert pre-installed, BUT this one was not overly-tightened in place, and the torque screw for the recoil lug matched the rest of the finish and was sized appropriately. The moveable base attachments were now matte, while the returned item had gloss ones that mismatched the rail and fit unevenly on the rear attachment. This unit looks like a better specimen.

This is a supplement to my initial review. After fitting the rail with the obligatory Optilock rings, I noticed a poor fit on the rear base. The factory had already placed the recoil insert so tightly that I could not reposition it if I wanted to. This seemed odd. Europtic.com kindly agreed to accept a return and a replacement. Let's see how the new one works out.

As Pete noted in his review of June 15, 2022, a full-length integral Pic rail would have been a better feature for the S20. The use of this rail necessitates the purchase of Optilock rings. That is a slick marketing ploy on Sako's part. The aftermarket rail itself is nicely made, but a better design would allow the use of non-proprietary rings such as Talleys or EGWs.

The low height worked well with their new Optilock base for the S20 as it elevates the plane. Clears a 44mm objective with about .19” to spare.
