I purchased the Vortex Diamondback for back pack style hunting and range use. It is very light and compact with good quality glass. For the money I am very pleased with this scope and have been recommending it to friends. I do own a Swarovski spotter although since this purchase I have not used it.

Perfect for range use. Prefer the Kowa 88mm Flourite Crystal or Swaro for wildlife viewing, but that one is very large and nearly 10x the price. This one is much better for target viewing as it s half the size/weight and FOV is practically a non-issue at the range, although I think this scope would do double duty for hunting too. The difference between it and the Uber-pricey offerings (Razor HD) and the Zeiss/Swaro/Kowa cabal might be significant to you at dawn/duskbut at what size/cost/weight penalty? All about compromise I suppose.
