The diameter of the lenses have been reduced by 2mm, allowing thinner, more closely spaced lenses elements to be used. This reduces the weight of the SFL by 23%, and the length by 21% when compared to Zeiss’s Victory SF binoculars. Weight is reduced even further thanks to the durable magnesium housing, making the SFL an astounding 30% lighter than binoculars of a similar class. The lightweight and compact size of the SFL is perfectly matched by their ergonomics and viewing comfort. Featuring the SmartFocus Concept, the SFL utilize a perfectly positioned focusing wheel on the DoubleLink Bridge. The focusing wheel can be operated without having to spread your fingers, and requires only 1.4 turns from close focus to infinity, and is capable of being rotated precisely even with gloves on. A generous exit pupil enables quick and easy positioning of the eye, and improved eyecups provide an even better ergonomic feel and a smooth transition between the touch points, which are precisely defined and can be reached perfectly.

Equipped with the Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) concept, the SFL utilize special coatings and an improved optical design that ensures the binoculars deliver the highest level of detail and reproduce colors with natural fidelity. This includes the Zeiss T* multicoating, which provides a light transmission of 90%, allowing the user to clearly and precisely recognize details in twilight or adverse lighting conditions.
