On December 12, 2019, the Department of Defense announced that USSOCOM officially selected two of Nightforce’s ATACR models to be the primary optics for the new MK22 Advanced Sniper Rifle, a rifle based on the Barrett MRAD. The riflescopes selected for the $50 million contract are the ATACR 5-25x56 F1, designated the P-VPS Standard and the ATACR 7-35x56 F1, designated the P-VPS Long Range.

According to the Nightforce press release, the Horus Vision TREMOR3 was the reticle selected for both P-VPS riflescopes and the scopes will be finished in a tan, hardcoat anodized finish. Additionally, a "purpose-built Nightforce scope mount and laser finder integration platform" will be included with the riflescopes as part of a complete system that will allow snipers to more effectively engage targets using the MK22 sniper rifle.
