Description

The Kimber Mountain Ascent is the lightest production bolt action big game rifle available today. This durable and accurate Kimber 8400 Mountain Ascent 7mm Rem Mag rifle features a Kevlar/carbon fiber stock with pillar and glass bedding, an Optifade Open Country finish, adjustable trigger, stainless steel action, 1" Pachmayr decelerator pad, removable, muzzle brake, and a fluted match grade barrel coated in Shale Gray KimPro II finish. Special weight-reducing features include a spiral fluted bolt body, fluted and hollowed bolt handle, and a lightweight trigger guard.

Possibly the lightest hunting rifle on the market Kimber’s Mountain Ascent rifle only weighs between 4.8 lbs. and 6.4 lbs depending on the caliber. However don’t let its extreme weight fool you, the Mountain Accent rifle is a medium to large game hunting rifle plain and simple, available in traditional hunting cartridges like the .270 Winchester, magnum cartridges like the .300 Winchester Magnum, modern cartridges like the 6.5 Creedmoor.

Weight reduction in the Mountain Ascent achieved through creative and superior engineering by Kimber. The stock of the Mountain Ascent is made from Kevlar reinforced carbon fiber making it lightweight without compromising durability and strength. Further weight reduction was achieved by fluting the barrel, the bolt, and even the bolt handle.
