The recoil proof LED emitter has two outputs: low and high. High output produces a 600 lumen beam of blinding white light, and low output creates a milder beam of 200 lumens which greatly improves the battery life. The DSF-870 has two switching modes, momentary-on and constant-on. Momentary-on is activated by pressing the front button and holding it down, the light will remain activated until the button is released. The constant-on is activated by pressing the rear button once and will remain active until switched off. The DSF-500/590 also has a system disable switch that deactivates the entire system for safe transportation.
