The SUB-1 by Mission Crossbows gets its name from its ability to consistently shoot 1-inch groupings at 100 yards. The SUB-1’s rifle-like accuracy can be attributed to an extensive development process, innovative technologies, and user-friendly features. One of the SUB-1’s more notable aspects is its Controlled Acceleration. This feature is essentially the heart of the SUB-1, and utilizes multiple systems, rather than one specific part. The Controlled Acceleration starts with a CNC machined flight deck as well as two round and coaxial Sync X Cams – the combination of which results in the elimination of vertical and horizontal nock travel and a constant string travel distance, giving the SUB-1 its signature level of accuracy. The Sync X Cams also provide 80% let-off, making the crossbow effortless to cock/de-cock. The SUB-1’s long range precision is perfectly complimented by its ease of use and user adjustability. Unlike the majority of crossbows in the same class, the SUB-1 doesn’t require a bow-press to replace strings or cables, allowing the user to service the SUB-1 in the field. The fit and feel of the SUB-1 can also be finely tuned to the shooter’s preference; the stock’s length of pull can be altered in 6 positions between 14.5 and 15.75 inches, as well as a comb height that can be adjusted by 1.25 inches. The SUB-1 also features a AR-style pistol grip, offering excellent ergonomics and can be replaced with non-beavertail aftermarket AR-type grips. In addition, the SUB-1 is equipped with Mission’s innovative Benchmark Fire Control. This system was developed over the course of 3 years, and features a 2-stage match grade trigger outfitted with a fully contained rolling sear that breaks cleanly at 3.4 pounds. An added benefit to the Benchmark Fire Control system is it allows the user to safely de-cock the crossbow without pulling the trigger or firing a bolt, meaning no more broken bolts, discharge-heads, or bag targets.
