Sig Sauer's MCX-Regulator combines a traditional ranch rifle design with the DNA of a rifle used by elite Special Forces operators around the world. It operates using Sig Sauer's innovative short stroke gas piston system – this eliminates the need for a buffer tube allows the MCX-Regulator to use a use a more traditional style stock rather than a standard AR-style stock. The stock itself is Magpul's SGA stock – the same after market stock for the Mossberg 500 and 590 shotgun – and can be replaced with other Mossberg 500/590 after market stocks. Similarly, the custom lower receiver is compatible with all MCX upper receivers. Other features of the MCX-Regulator include a fully ambidextrous magazine release, safety selector, and bolt catch. Additionally, the MCX-Regulator is outfitted with a Sig Sauer exclusive muzzle brake and a 2-stage match trigger.
