Description
Length and diameter have long been an issue in the realm of pistol suppressors. Longer and wider suppressors might provide greater sound reduction, but sacrifice the pistol’s maneuverability and require the use of suppressor height sights. Shorter suppressors help retain the pistol’s mobility, but might not provide the desired decibel level. Dead Air Silencers recognized these problems, and produced the Odessa-9 as a solution. It features a tube diameter of just 1.1 inches – allowing the handgun’s factory sights to be used without obstruction. Like many of Dead Air’s suppressors, the Odessa-9 utilizes a modular design. This allows the user to select up to 9 length configurations by adding or removing baffles. With 4 baffles installed, the Odessa-9 is considerably quiet (when used with subsonic ammunition). With all 10 baffles installed (and with subsonic ammunition), the Odessa-9 produces a decibel level just shy of 122dB. In addition, the Odessa-9 was designed for use with 9mm cartridges, but is also compatible with other handgun rounds including .22lr, .22 Mag, .17 HMR, 5.7x28mm, 32 Auto, and 380 Auto.
