This is due to the tritium/fiber optic illuminated reticle found in most Trijicon ACOG riflescopes, this automatically adjusts illumination of the reticle based on available light.

As part of their 2022 lineup, Trijicon is now producing ACOG Scopes with the new Q-LOC Quick Release Mount. This innovative mounting system utilizes a proprietary spring-loaded attachment mechanism that allows for fast one-handed mounting, and allows the ACOG to be attached/removed without the need to re-zero the optic.
