Description
Leica’s APO-Televid 82 Angled Spotting Scope Kit is an ideal choice for long-range observation. It comes with an APO-Televid 82 Angled Spotting Scope and a Televid 25-50 WW Variable Eyepiece.
The APO-Televid 82 Angled Spotting Scope features apochromatically corrected optics combined with the new FL lenses and an 82mm diameter objective for increasing the light yield by over 6%, with the imaging performance and highest possible resolution clearly visible in the finest details. Optical performance is further enhanced with an innovative 4-part fluoride lens objective for maximum color fidelity and richness of contrast, which also accommodates use in low light situations. Optically neutral front lens glass protects the APO optic, and Leica AquaDura coating considerably mitigates the ability of dirt and water to stick to the lenses. Other features include a particularly short close focus distance of 3.9 meters, and rubber-protected magnesium housing protects the sensitive internals from shocks and minor impacts, as well as a water resistance of up to 5 meters.
The 25-50x WW Eyepiece is the first zooming telescope eyepiece which has a wide angle of apparent field of view throughout its zooming range, instead of exclusively in the higher-magnification range as is the case with other zooms. The apparent field here goes from 59 to an astounding 80°, surrounding your eye with a view that is only more vast in a handful of fixed-magnification extreme wide angle specialists in the astronomy realm. Despite this, eye relief maintains a constant, comfortable distance of 19mm. Like any modern eyepiece it has a rubber armored body with helicoid-style eyecup, and like all Leica eyepieces it is nitrogen filled and individually tested to assure its watertight status.
