Description
The BH-40 is truly a do-it-all ballhead that comes packed with Really Right Stuff innovations. Ideal for both shooting and glassing, the BH-40 features a 90° drop-notch to provide maximum flexibility for positioning the rifle into any angle. The BH-40’s clamp tension is adjustable, featuring a large main knob which adjusts the tension of the main ball and panning base control. The main knob utilizes stainless steel ball bearings, ensuring a long service life of silky smooth control. The precision panning base is laser-engraved at 2.5° intervals, giving the BH-40 a dedicated pan function, and a unique drum and brake design makes locking effortless. One of the BH-40’s more notable features is Really Right Stuff’s patent-pending R-Mount Interface. The R-Mount provides an exceptionally secure connection between the clamp and ball stem head with its advanced rosette design. This prevents twisting at the coupling point between the two pieces of hardware over time, and helps eliminate the “play” resulting from regular use on previous RRS tongue-and-groove designs. Other features of the BH-40 include the patented dual clamp design and easy top-loading function for the RRS 1.5” dovetail, ARCA-Swiss rails, and picatinny rails. This allows the BH-40 to seamlessly transition between platforms and applications, making the BH-40 equally well-suited for use with rifles and high-powered tripod mounted optics.
