This is too small front to back to be retained by the magazine catch in my new 1710. Shimming the forward face allows retention, and it does work slightly better than an empty magazine for single loading, but such a simple piece should just work.

Sometimes have to eject this from the eject port due to it's length, but it works for bench rest comps. Not something I use all the time, but enough to be worth it.
