Featuring Hornady’s ELD-X bullet, great care was given by Hornady’s engineers to develop superior match-grade hunting loads to ensure the ELD-X bullet achieves its maximum ballistic potential. The ELD-X Bullet is outfitted with the innovative Heat-Shield tip. This design defies the impact of aerodynamic heating and retains the its shape to maintain the highest in-class BC over the entire trajectory – an effect that was verified by Doppler radar. Accuracy is further enhanced by a streamlined secant ogive with an optimum boattail design and highly concentric AMP bullet jacket. In addition to its accuracy enhancing effects, the Heat Shield tip delivers a devastating effect on target by driving backward into the bullet to initiate the expansion. The expansion is controlled, and results in a large mushroom that retains 85% to 90% of its weight, and provides a large wound cavity and deep penetration.
