Ruger Amphibian .22 pistol with AWC Systems Technology Suppression

The Ruger Amphibian is one of the most iconic .22 caliber pistols from the last half century. The original concept of the Amphibian can be traced back to WWII and the clandestine agencies that conducted operations against the Axis powers using integrally suppressed Colt Woodsman and High Standard pistols. The Ruger Amphibian has been in production for over 30 years and has made itself indispensable to various law enforcement agencies and has even been in service with the Navy SEALs.

This Ruger Amphibian was converted by AWC Suppression Systems and has a stainless steel finish. The base firearm is a Ruger Mark II .22 LR pistol that was stripped of all unnecessary parts and then seamlessly mated with the suppressor. The pistol measures in 13.5", with a 7" integral suppressor, and weighs in at 2.8 lbs. The pistol gets its name because it will function flawlessly when wet - a wet suppressor will actually enhance the suppression effect. While AWC doesn’t publish the level of suppression for the Amphibian they describe the report as a "mechanic click" and less noisy than a C02 air pistol. The Amphibian has a seemingly endless range of applications ranging from tactical to pest control and would make an excellent addition to any collector's arsenal.
