Several years ago I took to long range classes and a sniper class. At that time I had a mid entry Lupold scope which for the time was adequate. However, the instructors of the class had both a Nightforce and a Schmidt and bender scope… I was ruined for life. From then on, only a top-tier scope would fill my need-I became a scope snob. I search through scopes daily on this site and one kept popping up and catch Mayeye and that one was the Steiner 3 to 12 x 50 military(now the 3-14X56) every review I read praise the scope from the most professional of shooters to the newer benchrest adicts. It had front focal plane a mill mill radical zero stopped her it's in a highly sophisticated illumination system. But it was a kicker the lenses were made from Schotz glassworks. So I pays my money and takes my chances. After the scope finally arrived, and after I lapped my 34 mm rings, I'm mounted the Steiner on my 308. Now, every time I go to the range my previous instructors want to shoot my rifle with the Steiner optics rather than the accuracy international with his "beast" of a scope (wink-wink nudge-nudge know what I mean? I've shot the beast, & Ive shut the PMII and haven't found any one scope out there that surpasses the capability the Steiner offers. Truly a top tier scope.. PS: Soon to come-an evaluation of the PX4i

I would highly recommend the Steiner P4XI 4-16x56. I did a tall target test and It tracks dead on, very very clear glass the illumination is also very good even in bright sunlight. The only drawback is the turrets are kinda stiff, but will probably get better over time. I would have also liked it to have had actual yardage on the parallax adjustment.

The P4xi is back! This is a tough rugged little scope. Super crisp glass, sweet SCR retical and MADE IN USA! Think Leupold in it’s hay day . Steiner’s service after sale is worth the price of the scope alone. As a rancher I know, if you don’t have service for your equipment you don’t have anything. I own multiple Steiner products and they have always addressed any issues I had. Buy one or get one of its bigger brothers and you will not be disappointed! PS The Steiner light transmission and edge clarity is Second to none!

The Steiner P4XI 4-16 X 56 is an excellent scope for the price. The glass is very clear and the reticle is very crisp. The turrets are very tight and hopefully get better over time. I would definitely recommend this scope, you will not be dissipointed.
