to be honest I'm very surprised the NightForce Flip-up Lens Caps are (at least the Eyepiece one) that fragile. I have 5 NightForce scopes and they are very, very robust but this accessory is not. When I installed it on the eyepiece of one of my scope, I went to tight it with its screw and I simply broke the cheap plastic ring. I had to use strong glue to repair it. (I didn't wanted to buy another one at this price!) for me it is an important part but a way too fragile. it simply doesn't reflect the NightForce's general quality of their scopes. [EDITOR'S NOTE] - These covers should specify very clearly in the installation instructions that that screw may only be tightened a certain amount - ANY over-tightening is likely to damage the unit.
