Alex Sepkus Platinum and Diamond "Evening Flowers" Earrings E-227PD
Alex Sepkus specializing in both goldwork and platinum. Unlike many other Alex Sepkus designs, these "Evening Flowers" earrings are built entirely out of platinum – not 18K gold. The platinum material helps accent the shiny brilliance of the diamonds, and the unique spiral shape of each earring.
Let’s begin by discussing the earrings themselves. They close with a traditional "French wire" closure, which attaches to a hinge to allow them to dangle freely. Below this, Alex Sepkus has created a two-tiered earring.
The first tier consists of a platinum body that has been worked into a spiral shape. With inlays and platinum-work, Alex Sepkus has created a style that’s organic, and reminiscent of flowers seen in moonlight – during the evening. Each spiral is capped with a brilliant-cut diamond.
The second tier is where the bulk of the platinum and diamonds are located. This tier is built in a rounded oval, with diamonds placed irregularly throughout the platinum. This adds to the naturalistic effect of these earrings.
In total, there are 16 white diamonds contained within these earrings, for a total weight of 0.35ct. They are VVS in clarity, and F-G in color quality.
