Most scope rings on the market attach to the picatinny rail with a side latch that cams onto the underside of the rail. While this method works for the most part, level of repeatability is dependent of torque which leads to a loss of accuracy, and the lack of direct tension on the rail causes this design lose its strength over time. The Gen 2 Tru-Loc Rings however applies tension directly to the rail’s mating surface, allowing the scope to be mounted in the exact same position every time regardless of tension.
