Absolute great gun!! The 2 optional front sites were missing and the choke case was cracked when the gun arrived, but Benelli sent replacements immediately.

So in direct comparison to a Super Vinci and a SP 686 this has a bit more felt recoil than both, but it doesn't hurt my shoulder like a 686 does. It is super accurate and fires everything I feed it. The sporting doesn't have the engraving like the field and I don't notice the ports doing much of anything. I would say the progressive recoil does it's job but there are better options for sure but I love the weight and the wood look and since I can't have it all, for me, it's the best for what I wanted it to be, 100 rnds of sporting clays with the father on the weekend and an occasional pheasant hunt.
