Description
The Berger VLD Target Bullet is one of the flattest shooting bullets on the market today. Emulated by all others, the VLD Target bullet incoporates a secant ogive design which allows the bullet to experience less drag as it travels to the target. This reduced drag is why the VLD shoots flatter, experiences less wind-drift, and has a higher retained velocity than all others. A favorite load technique for the VLD’s is touching the rifling for single-shot applications, although some rifles may prefer as much as .150? from the rifling. Berger VLD Target Bullets are extremely popular for competitive long range applications. Built with highly consistent J4 Precision Bullet jacket, most favored by custom bullet makers.

Excellent bullet!!! In fact the only bullet that I will reload in my 223. I thought for years that I'd never reload 223 as some manufacturers loaded ammo shoots dam good. Well, then came 2020 and supplies for my "normal" long range shooting (6.5 creedmoor) were non existent or stupid expensive. So decided to play around with and reload some 223 ammo for ranges out to 600 yards. I settled on 23.6 gr of IMR8208XBR at 2798 fps out of factory REM. SPS tactical, MPA chassis and Triggertech Diamond trigger, this 223 will shoot lights out. .2-.3 moa 5 shoot groups are not unheard of at 100 yards. Bergers are excellent choice for any long range application!
Excellent bullets. In my Bergara HMR 22-250 1-9 Twist, a heavy charge of Staball 6.5, lapua brass, and these Bergers seated .010"-.015" off lands I'm getting sub 1/2 MOA groups.
