Description

Christensen Arms rimfire rifles are back! New for 2020, the Christensen Arms Ranger 22 is designed for one thing—precision. The Ranger 22 bolt action is based on an aluminum precision machined receiver that is anodized black for corrosion and scratch resistance, while the bolt features dual ejectors and dual locking lugs. Additionally, the receiver comes with a 0 MOA Picatinny rail for optics mounting. The carbon fiber tension barrel features a 22LR Bentz match chamber and is 1/2x28 threaded allowing for the addition of a suppressor or other muzzle device. Thanks to its carbon fiber composite stock, carbon fiber tension barrel, and the aluminum receiver, the Ranger 22 weighs in at only 5.1 lbs.

I don’t normally write reviews but after reading these other guys I had to, the trigger is amazing, breaks just beautiful yes just over 3 pounds, the thread on the end of the barrel is longer, my yankee hill suppressor threaded right on, the SilencerCo warlock and switchback won’t thread all the way to the shoulder, I took off the inner lip in both cans and there you go magic threads all the way up to the shoulder no spacer and looks great! Finally the thing is a tack driving fool, I’m shooting cci subsonic ammo out of it and I’m mainly using it to keep down the starling population around the farm I’ve killed over 200 in the first 5 months of the year, most all at 75-100 yards but out to 140+ with subsonic ammo the things a machine so I mean everyone entitled to their opinion but I couldn’t only allow bad opinions of this 22 to be on here.

Trigger tech trigger says adjustable. Lowest was able to reduce was to just over 3lbs. Called and spoke to trigger tech. They said it’s because Christiansen Arms replaces a spring so they cannot guarantee the poundage. Also be careful to add a spacer if attaching any 1/2 x28 muzzle devices (especially a can). If you plan on putting a suppressor on, the suppressor will not thread back to the shoulder. A large gap is there and will cause a baffle strike! Ask me how I know!

At 84, with my Summit 22 I am almost consistently placing five rounds of Lapua L/Long range within a dime at 100 yds.. This says an awful lot about the rifle.

Correction; it is with myChristiansen Ranger that I am consistently placing five rounds within a dime size pattern @ 100 yards.

Absolutely amazing rifle. I am retired from the shooting circuit, now my boys 8 and 9 shoot, have been shooting since they were 3. I have personally seen them shoot 1/4 MOA at 100 meters with Lapua Center-X.

Nice rifle! Accurate and so light. Ability to use Ruger mags is a big deal. Yeah, the threads are long. I bought a Thunderbeast 1/2 x 28" peel washer and tossed it on as a shim and my Axiom snugged up no problem. The Ranger has only had one range session, but I tried 3 different brands of ammo and no extraction problem so (hopefully) the extraction issues of the past have been addressed.

Great rifle! Seemed to have the wow factor when shown to the guys in the office. Really surprised by the other reviews. Is it a Cooper? No, It's a $750 gun (minus $250 rebate), which is at least partially assembled in the states, what in the world do the other reviewers expect. Crotchety old bastards, or Arm chair warriors who need to curb their expectation and watch less Youtube.

I agree with the other reviewer. It wouldn't eject spent shells properly regardless of which brand of ammo used. After multiple attempts in contacting CA service was informed I had to send the gun back (at my cost) for them to determine the issue. Took it my local gun smith and he had to clean up the burrs on the extractors. Christensen Arms quality control on all their guns is less than desirable. Customer service (and their attitude) is piss poor. Reviews on other sites also reports the same type of issues with quality control and poor customer service.
