Description
New for 2020, the Desert Tech MDRX, takes the company’s revolutionary bullpup rifle design to the next level. MDRX rifles now feature an upgraded polymer resin formula for enhanced durability against high impact falls. Additionally, gas block drainage on the MDRX has been improved to dramatically increase reliability after submersion in mud and water. The trigger of the MDRX has been improved, providing a lighter pull with less creep. All MDRX rifles now feature the new Ratchet Compensator, which provides excellent control and recoil reduction without subjecting the shooter to gas blowback.
Built on a gas piston system and featuring a compact bullpup design, the MDRX flawlessly combines functionality, modularity, and ergonomics. The MDRX continues to utilize the MDR’s patented forward ejection system that makes the rifle ambidextrous without reconfiguration, as well as sending spent brass toward the target and not the guy next to you. The rifle features a full length Picatinny rail that extends to the end of the handguard as well as industry standard M-Lok attachment points. The MDRX, is available in four chamberings: .223 Wylde, .300 BLACKOUT, .308 Winchester and 6.5 Creedmoor.
MDRx Forward Ejection rifles are only compatible with Desert Tech MDRx FE conversion kits. MDRx Forward Ejection rifles can be converted to Side Ejection by installing this SE Upgrade Kit.

It’s been very good so far I’m about 300 rounds in with only an initial oiling and clean prior to the first shot. Only had one hang up so far which I believe to be a low powder charge on that one specific cartridge, it failed to fully eject the empty case but grabbed the next round. I slightly pulled back the charging handle and let it go and it continued to cycle fine after that. I’ve been getting around 1.5 MOA with PRC X-tac m855, could probably do better with match ammo. My only complaint is that the dust cover came to me loose and just opens on its own, waiting to hear back from Desert tech about that issue.
