This is my first gold dot and I have to admit to being skeptical based on the fact that I love green dots so much. Truth be told, I probably still love green dots a little more but the gold dot is excellent. That said, the dot is highly visible, even in bright light. I've tried it in tandem with a high power flashlight and still easily visible. One of the best things about the unit is the incredible size and sight picture. It's incredible sturdy, love the shake on with solar backup, AND the price at Eurooptic is unmatched! Every other retailer has it listed for 339. I HIGHLY recommend this dot!!

I really wanted to try the Holosun Gold Dot considering those I know who have suggested it due to my astigmatism. I have several Holosun green dots and love them. They work really well with my astigmatism but wanted to give the gold a try. All I can say is WOW, I love it! It works wonders and it seems my eye is more relaxed in focusing on or past the gold without blur or starbursting vs. green vs. red. Red has always starburst for me, green was so much better than red, and dare I say the gold is now my go to favorite.

Holosun 512 Gold Dot feels and looks like a solid product. I bought it primarily for the shake and awake feature and the long battery life that is backed by a solar panel. These features make this necessarily for my mission ready home defense AR-15 that I keep at my bedside. Thanks Europtics for the great price and free/fast shipping.

Mounted this site in a 5.56 SBR, paired with a Vortex 3X magnifier. Great set up, I really like the auto brightness control and the shake awake.
The gold dot catches the eye quickly.

Really good optic. I live in El Paso and go shooting in the desert and the gold dot does not wash into the desert. I have one on a 10.5 and one on a 16 inch.

This is the 3rd Gold Dot I've purchased. For my eyes, the clarity is far better than the red, and slightly better than green. This unit replaced a Vortex holographic sight, which was much more expensive and a good unit. The Shake a Wake system is great.
This one is going on a suppressed MP5.

Excellent buy! I have two Holosun HE512C red dot sights which I absolutely love! The gold dot provides the same level of performance at a terrific price. The "shake awake" feature is the best. Saves the battery when you forget to power down when you put it away! Don't hesitate, the gold dot is very visible and more than bright enough in full sun. I'm sure you will be very satisfied!

Ultra crisp reticle regardless the level of intensity it's set to, lightweight and sturdy design that has a massive sight window without interference of peripheral vision. You know, no matter how hard I try to stay away from Chinese made products...this is the only company that I can't say no to. Holosun is on a couple of my rifles and 2 pistols. They simply make some of the fairest-priced, highest quality, fully featured, long lasting and (seemingly/apparently) durable red dots on the market. Most look good as well. This HE512C is perfectly at home on a Tavor TS12. While I would have preferred the Vortex enclosed red dot, it's $600. For that $$, I could have 2 of these holosun's with enough money left over, for dinner for two. No brainer. The quality is solid, clarity is good and I'm actually quite pleased with the gold reticle. I prefer red and not a fan of any green reticles but this gold is pretty nice. For the $$, you can't go wrong. The ONLY gripe is that they should have a quick release mounting lever for it. I fully recommend. Thumbs up.

A while back I opted to get Holosun over EoTech after reviewing both. Holosun in my opinion is an overlooked great product and I like them more! The sights are very clear and this gold sight had me questioning how good it would be but it is awesome! Highly recommend Holosun for any application!

I wanted to try a gold dot reticle optic because I read that the reticle appears more sharp/crisp for people with astigmatism. Many red dot sights the dot appears to be smeared and makes precise aim difficult. I have to say, it is true. For me, the gold dot Holosun appears more crisp and precise than red dots from other brands that are significantly more expensive. It works for me. Your mileage may vary. I don't know how durable or rugged it is. I haven't dropped or abused it. But it seems to be doing just fine for my level of use.

Nice optic. Seems well made. I like the shake awake feature. The Gold dot is good. Shows up well even in bright sunlight. Still think I prefer the green. I’ll need to use it a little more to be sure. Downside is in the battery tray is too hard to open. Maybe because it’s new?? It shouldn’t be that difficult to get to the battery. Other than that I like it.

I enjoy the uniqueness of the gold dot set up and I like the enclosed optic. Auto adjust and solar backup features are nice. The gold picks up well in all light settings I’ve used it in (shooting both nighttime and daytime). I have it on a KP9 and it is perfect on the platform. I’d buy another if I had a need.

i think this is the best bang for buck going. these things are tanks! my second one.
just an awesome robust sight. was scared they stopped making them, they went away for a while. so glad to see them back!
i shot open class in uspsa for 11 years with red dots, was sceptical about the gold dot but it is incredibly easy to pick up! actually easier than a red dot.
only wish i could find a kill flash or diffuser for them.

Outstanding optic at an outstanding price! I have several 510Cs and wanted to try an enclosed optic for better foul weather durability; this is the one. Same features and crisp dot as the 510C but enclosed to keep out the stuff from the emitter. Normally I choose green, but the gold reticle is very nice and clear with my astigmatism, and stands out against any background with very strong brightness. Auto-brightness also works well. Eurooptic shipped it out immediately, although shipping company delivered to wrong address. Not Eurooptic’s fault, and a distant neighbor with integrity dropped it off to me after several days. Highly recommended optic from a highly recommended vendor, will buy again!

Love this optic.. for me no annoying distortions between normal vision(L eye) and optic sight picture(R eye). Nice larger window thats fairly crisp, and no parallax at distant targets. Gold dot/ring is easy to track with a nice tight 2moa dot (my fav) for precision out to mid ranges. GD edition is reminis.. classis Acog 'AMBER' tritium reticles..very cool. My first time w EuroOptic.. excellent price, n very fast shipping.. im quite pleased so far..

I did alot of research for my first AR optic. After extensive research Holosun came up as the best bang for the buck. I have astigmatism and the Holosun dots looked the clearest for me. The gold dot is extremely sharp and can easily be picked up in all levels of light. The glass is clear. It was a toss up between a 510c-gr but then I found this 512c-gd for way lower on Eurooptic. It being an enclosed emitter pushed me to this over the 510. Extremely happy with my purchase and Eurooptic shipped it extremely fast with free shipping.

At first I was questioning a gold optic in Phoenix Az. But I was surprised it was pretty good even with all the lights and glare of the open dessert shooting it on my 1301.

Great addition to my rifle! Sight is excellent! Easy to operate. I do appreciate the little solar panels on top helping with battery when at the range. The reticle is also better than expected. The gold color is perfect, different than red and highly visible. I like the circle dot best for my application. Rifle was zeroed at 50yds. Have no trouble hitting targets close or out to 300. Took about 4 rounds and it was on, boresighted it before heading to the range, so knew it was at lest on paper. For the money it's tough to beat! Will see how tough it is over time. So far so good.

Seriously underrated dot. I have astigmatism and also use Eotechs for that reason, but I also got one dead on arrival recently and paid 20 dollars to ship it to Michigan for them to fix it with no explanation. I got this dot as a good quality backup after that experience. If you're on a budget or need to dot multiple rifles buy this, it’s not a holographic but it’s well made and the gold color is unique. Side note Holosun CS is amazing, they sent me two replacement battery trays for my pistol dot within a week no charge recently.

This is a fantastic optic. It looks great and functions great on my rifle. My only sadness is that I bought this with hopes to use it with night vision. While the reticle is perfect under NVG's, the lenses REALLY darken the image, and make seeing an IR laser (to try to zero) almost impossible.

i've shot USPSA for 12 years with a red dot. i decided to try the Gold dot and i think its actually a little easier to see. the brightness level on this optic is crazy bright. i've have it turned WAY down and still have no trouble in bright sunlight.
this optic is ROBUST! lol, its a tank! simple easy adjustments.
2 things i don't like. the battery tray on mine is next to impossible to twist the lever far enough to get it to lock. it doesn't feel like it will break but you think it will. something else that bugs me with a lot of optics is why can't they engineer a little hood over these sloped almost exposed lenses to aid in at least some rain protection! that aside, GREAT ROBUST TANK OF AN OPTIC!! also don't be afraid of the gold dot. i haven't found any background it washes out in. its sharp bright and clear!!

Excellent optic, replaced a Sig Romeo 5 with this and I love the Holosun. The gold reticle picks up quickly and does not wash out in bright sunlight. I like the ability to run in solar if the battery dies. The “circle in a dot”style reticle is awesome, especially on a rifle where you can use the upper and lower portions of the circle to range or sight in for longer/shorter distances.
