Kinetic Research Group’s 180-Alpha is designed specifically for Savage rifles.
Forend
- Polymer
- Mounting holes will take L2 Picatinny rails, QD sling mounts, etc.
- Access hole for action mounting screw (allows the action to be removed without the forend having to be removed)
Chassis
- V-bedding system that is CNC’d into aluminum
- Can take larger aftermarket recoil lugs
- Will accept barrel contour up to 1.2” straight cylinder
Trigger Guard/Mag catch
- Can accept Timney, Rifle Basix, and factory triggers
- Extended release button is available as an optional item
Magazines Used
- AICS 5 or 10 rounds mags (not included)
Cheekpiece/Handgrips
- 1” travel
- Quickly removed and re-installed using a clamp and thumbscrew design
- Simple feature allows the cheekpiece to return it to the exact height it had been set
- Cheekpiece can move forward or backward
- Made of polymer
Buttstock
- Aluminum
- Thumbshelf for same-side-thumb-grip
- QD sling mount on each side
- Buttpad has vertical adjustability with a hex wrench (pattern is for a Remington 700 which allows for installation of aftermarket pre-fit pads)
Length of Pull
- Length of Pull can be adjusted with 3/8” spacers for a total of 2 ¼” adjustment
- Length of Pull varies slightly between versions from 12.7” to 15”
Mounting Features
- Multiple QD mounting options on both buttstock and forend
- Harris bipod stud on forend
- Comes with MOE L2 and L3 rails
Materials/Finishes
- All aluminum parts are Type III hard anodized
- Most fasteners are stainless steel with black oxide coating
- Steel parts are salt bath nitrided or stainless steel
- Grip panels are injection molded reinforced polymer
The 180-Alpha Chassis is available for the following inlets:
- Savage SA (4.4” spacing) side or bottom bolt release
