The Individual Carbine A2 (IC-A2) hails directly from the rifles LWRCI developed for the U.S. Army’s Individual Carbine Program. The requirements for this program called for a weapon that was accurate, reliable, fully ambidextrous, and would accept 1913 picatinny rail accessories. The IC-A2 meets all of these requirements and more, delivering high-performance AR-platform to the discerning shooter. Like all of LWRCI’s premium rifles, the IC-A2 is exceptionally reliable. This can be attributed to the patented LWRCI short-stroke gas piston system, which builds upon the original Stoner design with a variety of improvements. One of which is the elimination of hot gasses being vented into the receiver and bolt carrier group, thus reducing the required cleaning regiment. The IC-A2 also comes standard with a nickel-boron coated bolt carrier for unmatched resistance to wear and corrosion while also providing permanent lubricity. To enhance the reliability even further, the rifle is equipped with the LWRCI Enhanced Fire Control Group, which utilizes nickel-Teflon coated components for a smooth, crisp trigger pull with a positive reset. In addition to its accuracy and reliability, the IC-A2 offers a variety of user friendly controls. The safety selector, charging handle, bolt release, and magazine release are all ambidextrous for comfortable shooting with either hand, and an enlarged trigger guard allows for shooting with gloves.
