Purchased this in March 2019 and had a chance to use it out to known distances up to 3000 yards. The distances were done with a surveying setup. The RX2800 performed very well. We had several rangefinders out there and they all read something different, most were very close at the extended ranges. 2000 yards and in, this thing was spot on. Not saying it wasn't on past 2000 yards it was just very hard to get a consistent reading, even on a tripod. Lighting conditions have some input on that as well. I really like it though, I think it's fantastic for the money.

Been using the 1,000 model for 10+ years. Only thing I’m not as happy with is the force needed to get the ranging button to engage. Last model was just a gentle push, this one take 2-3x the force to engage. Can throw you off your target at longer ranges unless using 2 hands.

Just a note..... uses the CR123 battery not the CR2.

I love this rangefinder. Works great! Great features. Leupold quality. I would suggest this for a Rifle Rangefinder!

I was able to range out to 1400yds off hand on a 24" plate. Still a new tool and I'm still playing with it. The red display will be nice on overcast days and at dusk but it is very hard to read on bright sunny days and might be an issue. It would be nice if you could choose between black and red display. It was recommended by a shooting instructor who's not sponsored by them.

This thing is simply amazing. Appears to be right on with my milling.

I've used the 1000 model for 12 years and just loved it but it is starting to act up so I replaced it with this model. It is even better and faster and ranges further. I expect it will last at least as long as the last one. I love Leupold products.

This unit has met my needs for reliable ranging on discreet targets and landforms beyond 1000 yards. I've had good return from a grassy hill side at 1600 yards. I've not tried for greater distances yet. The horizontal distance calculation for ballistics input only works to 800 yards, so when shooting on an incline beyond that range one needs to calculate from LOS.
