MDT’s Frontier Chassis pushes the boundaries of what a wooden stock can do with a combination of ergonomics, aesthetics, and modern enhancements. It comes equipped with aluminum V-Block bedding to provide a solid foundation for the action. The aluminum bedding extends back down through the grip and into the buttstock to create superior rigidity throughout the entire chassis as well as ensuring maximum repeatability and long-range precision. The bedding in the grip area also allows the use of interchangeable angled and vertical grips to be used, both of which are over-molded with textured rubber for more comfort and control of the rifle.
Unlike the majority of gun-stocks that use Walnut, the Frontier uses premium White Birch hardwood for its wooden furniture. The durability of White Birch perfectly matches with the rigidity of the aluminum V-Block bedding, and adds a timelessly classic appearance. The wood furniture is available in either Charcoal or Mountain Green, and is colored using a dye baths to make the color to fully penetrate the wood – this allows the Frontier to maintain its appearance if the wood is scratched, chipped, or dented. After being dyed the wood is then laminated, resulting in a unique appearance for each Frontier Chassis. The use of laminated hardwood also allows for more comfort in virtually any weather condition since wood won’t get cold. Other features of the Frontier include an adjustable foam-covered cheek piece to ensure proper alignment between an optic and the shooter’s eye, and an adjustable length-of-pull system accommodates good shooting posture. The bottom of the Frontier’s fore-end is outfitted with a full-length M-LOK system for the use of ARCA rails, picatinny rails, bipods, and QD cups, and a 1-inch M-LOK mounting point in the stock can be used for mono-pods or bag riders. In addition, the Frontier Chassis is compatible with AICS-style magazines and features a ambidextrous magazine catch.
