Just received my M12 Max and it exactly what I had in mind for a bush gun. Light, quick to the shoulder, thumb hole stock pulls the rifle to a perfect firing and sight position every time, iron sights fall onto a bead immediately. Laminated stock is finished very well, fitting of all parts is exquisite. This is a Hunter’s rifle, not a case queen. If I had one minor criticism it would be that Mauser should have used a dark gray instead of the brown for the finish color, think it would have looked better.
Chose the 9.3x62 for a number of reasons. While not a common chamber in the U.S., though that is changing a bit, it is still very popular abroad and this rifle is going to Africa down the road as well as Alaska. The 9.3x62 is an excellent all-arounder and more than capable to effectively take down small, medium, and dangerous game by simply changing ammo, 225/232/250/285/300 grain all available. Don’t want to carry multiple rifles or barrels, don’t want to reach out over 250 yards, but want a heavy punch without a magnum recoil, 9.3x62 fits that bill. The 5+1 capacity is another added advantage.
Bought a Leica 1.5-10 compact rifle scope. Waiting on the Mauser Hexalock 30mm rings to come in from back order. Hoping the quick connect mounts work as well as advertised and reviewed.
