The TA-2U-SC Universal Leveling Base takes much of its design from the TA-2 and TA-U leveling bases, but incorporates several major improvements. The TA-2U-SC’s height has been reduced by 30% for increased packability, and can move 33% further at 20 degrees to better accommodate use on steeper angles. The TA-2U-SC’s ergonomics and usability have also been improved. It features a triple-lobe lock lever so the position of the thumb pads in relation to the legs remains constant no matter which leg faces you, as well as reducing the effort needed for lockup. The TA-2U-SC is also outfitted with a removable male mounting stud, allowing it to attach to any tripod platform with a male 3/8”-16 stud, a RRS Quick Column tube, or a Series 2 Versa Tripod SureGrip apex. In addition, the TA-2U-SC is equipped with the popular RRS SOAR dual style clamp with is compatible with the RRS 1.5” dovetail standard as well as Picatinny rails.
