The Sauer 404 broken down into its modular parts is the stock/receiver, bolt head, barrel, and magazine. Sauer 404 stock receivers are available in a soft touch polymer as well as a variety of wood grades. Sauer 404 barrels are available in different profiles, with or without iron sights, and threaded or non-threaded for muzzle devices. The bolt body has a jeweled finish that adds a bit of flair to even the most utilitarian 404 configuration. The bolt head can be removed and replaced to allow for easy configuration changes from medium caliber groups to magnum caliber groups. The bolt head for the Sauer 404 has six locking lugs that will lock directly into the barrel.
