Description

Designed at the request of world renown combat veteran and firearms instructor Larry Vickers, Scalarworks PEAK Fixed Iron Sights have redefined the fixed iron sight concept for AR platform rifles. Scalarworks redesigned every major component of the A2 style iron sight when developing the PEAK iron sight. This resulted in enhanced form and function as well as ensured that PEAK iron sights are far more than just a backup sighting system. Every Peak sight is CNC milled from 7075-T6 billet, which has vastly superior mechanical properties to 6061-T6, and is used where ultimate strength and durability outweigh cost considerations.

Most modern and traditional fixed iron sights for AR platform rifles feature components designed for use on the M16A2's 20" sight radius. Since most modern AR15 owners purchase carbines with a 15" sight radius, the sight picture can often feel overcrowded, making target acquisition more difficult. PEAK sight components are designed to utilize the 15" carbine sight radius, like the front sight post that measures .053" wide instead of the common .07". Peak Sights have manually adjustable elevation (front) and windage (rear); both with a refined 0.5MOA/click, which matches most Red Dot sights. Because the human eye naturally centers objects with a bright aperture, the PEAK rear sight design eliminated the shooter facing scallop that can generate a misleading highlight. The PEAK rear sight's completely flat CNC machined aperture plates create a completely black silhouette as to not create any highlight bias. The PEAK rear sight features two apertures, one smaller for more precise distance shooting and one larger aperture for close-range target acquisition.
