The P938 utilizes a distinctive snag-free design; by replacing the front and rear sights with a unique FT Bullseye sight, the top of the slide becomes almost completely flat. This translates into a fast and even ability to draw and holster the P938 SAS without the risk of it catching on clothing or the holster.

The P938 features a cocked-and-locked single-action-only trigger that gives it good accuracy especially when considering its size. Its 1911 type design becomes evident with the slide stop leaver, thumb safety and magazine release being located in the same place as on the Colt 1911. Another aspect the P938 shares with the 1911 is its 7 round magazine capacity with an additional round in the chamber.
