Description

The Sig Sauer TANGO4 riflescope line features a 4x zoom ratio and first-focal plane design. Add to that LockDown locking zero turrets, and the TANGO4 quickly becomes an ideal solution for tactical engagements, designated marksman, and hunters everywhere. TANGO4 riflescopes come in the following magnification variants:

  • 1-4x24mm
  • 3-12x42mm
  • 4-16x44mm
  • 6-24x50mm

TANGO4 scopes incorporate these features:

  • MOTAC - Motion-sensing technology immediately powers up illumination when motion is detected, and powers it down when it does not - saving battery life and ensuring power is there when needed.
  • Stealth ID - the industrial design of Sig Electro-Optics is based on their legendary firearms; deflection armor trapezoidal surfacing breaks up shape and pattern of the optic.
  • Spectracoat - Highly efficient, ultra-wide broadband, anti-reflection lens coatings minimize reflection across the spectrum of visible light, while still permitting maximum light transmission through the scope
  • LensArmor - Getting the most durability out of the scope via this abrasion-resistant lens coating, to ensure your optic stays crisp, clear, and bright.
  • Sig Optics Infinite Guarantee - They're guaranteed forever - an unlimited lifetime guarantee. Fully transferable, no warranty card or receipt required. Period.

About Sig Sauer

From humble beginnings as a wagon to factory to one of the world’s largest firearms, optics, and ammunition manufacturers; the history of Sig Sauer is rich in innovation and achievement. After winning a contract from the Swiss government in 1864 for their Prelz-Burnand muzzleloading rifles, the Swiss Wagon Factory change its name to Schweizerische Industrie-Gesellschaf, the Swiss Industrial Company, better known as SIG. In 1949 SIG developed the SIG P49, the predecessor to the P210 and continued developing small arms for the Swiss military and police.

Since then the company has changed its name, acquired other firearm manufacturers, and crossed the Atlantic—setting up headquarters in New Hampshire. However, what hasn’t changed is the innovative spirit that has driven SIG SAUER to develop firearms like the SIG516 rifle, MCX rifle, P320 pistol, and P226 pistol. With clients like the Texas Rangers, United States Secret Service, Navy Seals, and dozens of local law enforcement agencies nationwide; SIG SAUER is there When It Counts.

First, the good: the glass on the optic is very clear, the DEV-L reticle is awesome, the clicks on the turrets are very tactile and repeatable, and the zero stop is simple and intuitive, which is good because there are no instructions. Now, the gripe : Sig's Tango 4 and 6 lines have gone through so many generations so quickly that finding accurate descriptions are almost impossible. For example, this version of the Tango 4 DOES NOT have locking turrets like the previous version even though a lot of the online descriptions say it does. Second, there are only 12 MRADS of windage, not 22. There are 22 MRADS of elevation, and after zeroing on a 0 MOA mount, you pretty much only have 1 to 1.5 rotations up, so you don't get lost. All in all I think it is an excellent value for the features and quality of glass. At its price point, I see it making the Vortex PST Gen II 3-15x44 nervous.

Very clear glass and I love the reticle. Lines on reticle are very crisp and it doesn’t “feel” busy at all. I love it. Shooting in lower light, the illumination makes using the reticle still very easy. I really like the included power throw lever; not too long and very secure attachment. Setting the turrets was super easy and intuitive. Good thing, because the included instructions were rather vague. Comparing this scope to a Vortex 4-16 HST SFP, the Sig beats the Vortex in every way.

Positives: Clear optics. Positive adjustments. Tracks well. Negatives: No instruction manual. Called factory to have some questions answered. They said is so new that manuals weren't available yet. Zero stop is set differently than previous models. No lense covers. When questioned, factory said trying to keep cost down. Well, if I am paying for quality, a few dollars more doesn't matter.
