Description

Sig Sauer’s Tango MSR Riflescope is a perfect addition to an AR-type platform, but works equally well on virtually any other modern sporting rifle. It utilizes a high performance 6x optical systems with low dispersion glass for a crystal clear sight picture and excellent light transmission. The Tango MSR also comes equipped with an illuminated MSR-BDC6 SFP reticle, which is composed of a precise, 1-MOA free floating center-dot in the middle of an illuminated 10.85 MOA semicircle. Directly below the center-dot and semicircle is a “Christmas Tree” of holdover points and hash marks, allowing you to effectively compensate for bullet drop and wind drift at extended ranges. Other features of the Tango MSR include an integrated throw lever to seamlessly transition between magnifications, and an Alpha-MSR cantilevered scope mount is included as well.

Features of the Tango MSR Riflescope:

  • High performance 6x optical systems with low dispersion glass
  • Illuminated MSR-BDC6 SFP reticle with 11 illumination levels
  • Integrated throw lever
  • Alpha-MSR cantilevered scope mount

Really nice scope for the price. Glass is clear, I really like the reticle, it's just the right size similar to the acss with a dot instead of a Chevron. It is daylight bright on the top brightness settings. The magnification ring is smooth, the fiber optic green mark is a nice touch and works well. I found the throw lever isn't even needed as it has heavy knurling in the ring which I really like. The mount that comes with it is a great addition and it's solid. Overall for what you get for the price it's surprisingly great deal.

Ok, for the price it could be a good scope, however here are my 2c. Own Vortex PST gen2, Delta Stryker HD and this scope. Comparison is unfair since price is different, but my point is this : you are in the market for LVPO, you want clear red dot and good eyebox/ eye relief at 1 power and good scope picture at 6. This guy looks sexy, has good reticle, fair glass and holds zero fine after 400 rounds i fired. However, I did carbine class in NH past weekend and put this thing to test. It failed miserably. On highest illum with overcast never mind sunshine could not even tell if it was on, so forget the red dot component. Eye box/ relieve is so tight that god forbid you are not perfectly aligned. So forget funny shooting positions or shooting on the move. So this brings us to reasonable hunting scope or bench queen with unclear purpose. By no means this scope is a usable tactical purpose LVPO. I could be overly critical, but this is my experience. Don't be cheap, save extra and buy reasonable device.

First LPVO from Sig but not my first optic. Before anyone asks, yes it’s from china and not the traditional Japanese glass. For the price you get ALOT! A mount to go with the optic, throw lever, flat laying caps, fiber optic on the ring, clear glass and day light illumination. Throw lever is a little stiff but I’m sure will break in over time. They even made mounting dummy proof by adding the line to match with the mount. No more levels and guessing if it’s straight in the mount. Only negative is the eye relief box which is not forgiving before you get scope shadow. Swamp fox and vortex has a way more forgiving eye relief eye box. For the price and the brand this thing is a steal, I would highly recommend this combo. I’m sure it will sell out soon and Sig will raise the price so don’t wait.

I predict this scope/mount combo will quickly become the "Gold Standard" for entry level LPVO scopes. The quality, features, and low price are going to blow away the competition, force them to lower their prices, and up their game. I expect we will see that start to happen at next month's Shot Show. This is not a $1000 plus LPVO, but it does meet, or exceed the needs of many AR shooters without maxing out their credit card. I'm ordering another one right after I finish this review, and suggest you do the same, while they're still available.

The knobs and controls are easy to use and have good grip. The 1x doesn’t look as clear as some of the competition. For the same basic cost a person can have the second gen vortex strike eagle LPVO and I have multiple of those are I definitely like the glass clarity on those better. It’s not bad at all but if you’re spending roughly the same money the vortex is a better choice. If I didn’t own those I would probably like this SIG better. But I do and if I could get my money back and swap it for another Vortex I would.

This thing is awesome! Clear glass, excellent field of view, good eye box at 1x. Reticle is really nice. Illumination is daylight bright with the horseshoe and 2moa dot. Very clean. Mount is solid. Crisp turrets on windage and elevation. Only negative is the eye box at 6x is a little tight but it’s not a deal breaker. I would definitely recommend.

Nice scope with decent optics and a great value. Plusses and minuses, crystal clear in about 80% of the center, not so much on the edges, but better than you'd expect for the price. Zeroed in with three rounds before fine tuning and everything worked as it should but there's little detent and no audible click in the turret adjustments. Not a big problem at the range but might be if you were adjusting on the run in a life or death situation. I like the large post on the power adjustment ring but it had to be rotated from Six to about Four for the bolt to clear on my mini Howa bolt rifle for each cycle. Not a huge problem since it's mounted on a 300 blackout which will be used for close range hunting, more than likely on one or two power. The reticle is of the tactical variety but I think will work well for hunting which is how it will be used. The three posts are plenty big enough to see in low light and of course red lighting is ready when needed. Is the red light easily seen in bright sunlight? No, but it isn't needed then so who cares and in low light it's great. Yeah, it ain't perfect, but heck it does the job I need it to do with flying colors and again yeah, I'd surely buy it again. As I said earlier, it's a heck of a nice scope for the money. Thanks Sig!

So I am not a scope expert, haven’t handled $1000 or $2000 scopes. But I really like this one and it works really well for me. I have no issues with the fit and finish, mount works well, took me 5 min to level and mount, five shots to site in, and first day using shot 1.5-2 inch groups at 100 yards with 22lr. I find it almost as quick on 1x as my red dot, it’s stupid easy to drive the reticle on 1x, I feel like in a CQB setting I’d have a very good chance or even advantage with this reticle set up. Image is clear at 6x, tested it at palm tree that was 300-350 yards way and palm frawns has detail and we’re clear, I could also clearly see another tree that was in same sight line but only 100 yards away. 10 MOA donut with 3,6,9 German post pulls your eye in automatically, center 1 MOA dot is very percise. For the holdovers I easily found them online and the book includes them. As I read it there in MOA and I found reticle very wasy for wind and bullet drop compensation. Yesterday I was shooting 3 inch clay pigeons at 85 yards with 22lr and hitting almost every time. Was able to hit the 1 inch big pieces on first attempt 75% of the time. Eye box is fine. It’s to me great on 1x, good on 6x and for $300 cannot be beat period. Respective you tuber told me he thinks it’s easily worth 2x it’s price.

Great optic, especially for the price. It’s not the Tango 6 but it’s right up there.

Great scope always impressed with sig sauer products. Eye relief is perfect in my opinion. 1-6x magnification is all I need for my 13.7” barrel! I like the illuminated reticle.

Very solid optic for the money! For this price, you can't beat it...just have to keep the expected limitations and shortcoming's in mind, at this price point. Feels solid and of good quality in the hand. Fit and finish are pretty nice. The throw from 1-6 is not overly stiff and feels smooth. Throw lever is nice (just make sure it's screwed all the way in, as mine wasn't). Windage and elevation turrets weren't too mushy -- fine enough for a set it and forget it BDC. As expected in this price range, there is no daylight bright reticle to be had here, BUT, it's actually not bad -- better than other made in China options I've seen. I expect the reticle design leads you to the center horseshoe under 1x performance quite well, and in any low light or darker conditions, it's plenty bright, of course. BDC reticle is pretty clean and nice -- however I can't find clear/detailed info on the drops expected for standard .556 ammo. That's annoying. Come on Sig, provide more info on your BDC reticle, vs the paltry info provided on your cheap manual. I don't find anything online either. There is a little bit of fish eye in the center at 1x but mostly only noticed when you're looking for it. Zoomed in at 6x, the clarity is pretty darn good. Overall the glass clarity and edge to edge sharpness is pretty solid. Nothing stands out to me as unacceptable, rather, good overall at this price point. The eye box and eye relief are a little bit tight, as expected for this price range but still respectable and usable. I have it mounted pretty far back in a canted mount and had to lose the rear BUIS that I did have, to make it work. My natural cheek weld position on the stock, puts the optic in a perfect position for clear use. The only issue (like most rearward mounted LVPO's), is it makes reaching the charging handle tougher -- so the large extended charging handle latch is a big help. Using a Razor Gen 2 1-6x as my primary, anything is going to feel less in comparison. Overall, I can't complain about this Sig scope for this amount of $$. Hopefully figuring out the BDC holds and real world use will keep my opinion in place. At this point, a solid thumbs up. It seems to punch above it's price point and is a solid LVPO for a low-cost build.

I can only give 4/5 right now because I have not been able to make it to the range yet. However I will say that the scope feels solid and the mount is good but I may upgrade in the future. All in all I am happy with my purchase. Pic in link below. https://imgur.com/a/mvkmvYg

For the price point it's a great value you just can't beat. It's mounted on a Wilson Combat 300 Ham'r mainly used to eradicate wild boars. The optic is clear, very bright illuminated reticle, robust, and comes with the mount which you don't have to spend extra $$. The optic held well through tropical rain forests to hot and dry climate zones. Been battered and thrown around in the bed of the truck moving rapidly from one to location to another. The zero held up so far. It serves it;'s purpose beyond my expectations.

This mounted easily. Great low power scope with good eye relief. I was surprised at the clarity out of a cheaper scope. The movement on the zoom lever is smoth with just the right amount of resistance.

Easy to install, don't torque side mounting screws to more than recommended value - will pop during shooting. Took it to 100 and 200 yards, zeroed at 100 within minutes. mounted on my Sig Sauer AR15. My first experience with Eupooptic, will be checking them in the future. Customer service is superior, shipment and packaging were also excellent

Very pleased with the scope but I havent shot it yet The included mount is well made and the etched torque settings are a definite plus. The gradations in the BDC reticle are tiny, but readable No regrets for an AR-15 setup

I am impressed with this scope, glass is great and reticle is easy to use. I did not know that sig scopes were of this quality but I did want to try one and I am glad I did. To get a quality scope with a mount for $300.00 is a fair deal.

So far, I'm loving this optic. I've had through a couple of tough days and it was impressive. With all mounting specs on the mount and optic it was easy to install. Zero was almost on just from install. Elevation and windage turrets were super crisp and was able to get a great zero. I love the reticle. One of the days was a super bright day, but the illumination setting was more than enough for me. I'm anxious to see how battery life holds out, but I only had 2 negatives. The eye relief at 6x is tough. You really have to be worked in behind the gun. And the weight and bulk seem to be a lot. Definitely not deal breakers. Great entry level lpvo. Maybe even the best entry level lpvo.

Looks good so far, haven't shot with it but it's clear and a good scope I think for my tacsol 10/22 build. Cantilever looks nice but bought SIG low mounts for my application. Illumination has been fine in tests. Reticle is nice and clear and visible in daylight.

Fantastic scope for the money, it’s definitely one of the better values on the market right now. I love the way the reticle draws your eye in. I only wish they would make the illumination dial with intermittent on & off settings vs having to turn the dial all the way back to off. I also find the first 4-5 illumination settings to be quite dull. Other than that it’s a really nice scope.

Very impressive package for the price. Wasnt expecting much for the price and the Chinese made optic. Haven't tortured tested it or banged it around. Although I dont see i dont see civilians doing that on optics they pay for on thier range tots. Considering picking up another, the average "budget" lpvo is atleast twice as much as this. Definitely more bang for your buck this route.

I held my breath and ordered this and wow- I was blown away with what arrived at this price point. Super clear glass even at highest zoom, solid mount, quality workmanship. As others have pointed out the zoom lever adjustment is a bit too stiff for my use but hope it will loosen a bit with use. The illuminated reticle is bright enough for daytime. I do wish the illumination settings allowed for "off" between illumination levels. That is probably my only gripe. All that being said, I quickly ordered another one before too many figured out how amazing this LPVO truly is. Cat is out of the bag now given the reviews here. SIG rocks this value bucket.

This a fantastic scope. Clarity is great and the 1x6 magnification makes it a great scope for a patrol rifle. The people in Wilsonville did a great job.

I have bought 2 of them now. Great low price scope. Nice mount. Slight edge issue on glass looks out of focus. I expected it in the price point. Just stay in the middle of scope where you should be. Put one on a 6.5CM and the other on my coyote gun 224 Valkyrie.

Great value. Amazing FOV on par with my Sig prism. Little distortion around edges but clear and crisp in the center. Yet to be decided on longevity and zero hold. Eyebox a bit tight but not prohibitive. My prediction next batch of these scopes will be offered for $500 +. Get it now.

At the Sig retail price ($500) with a really well built mount, this would be a good value, at the Europtic pricing, the value is exceptional. Super solid build, great reticle and overall feel. If you are looking for a really nice entry level scope for your MSR, this is IT. Looking forward to my first range season.

December 28, 2021

Clear, bright, good reticle. Was very surprised at the clarity and eyebox. No problems seeing splash off steel at 200. The mount is pretty good for being essentially free. I shot some tight groups with it, and then dropped it onto some grass from 3-4 feet a few times and the zero shifted about an inch at 50 yards. This is perfect for what it is though. The BDC also works very well with 11.5 inch builds. Zero the center dot at 100 and the first hash will be dead on 300 yards. It's great to throw on a pistol and mess around with, I wouldn't get it for anything else though.

Have not field tested it yet, package came late, but I have to say, it's worth the wait. Lens is very clear, and the magnification is smooth and extremely clear. I wish they made one for the 308..i would definitely recommend.. Very well made too
