The PT22 by Taurus is small in size and rich in features, making it ideal for concealed carry or as a backup pistol. One of its more notable features is its unique “tip-up” barrel, allowing the user to chamber a round without having to rack the slide. The tip-up barrel makes the PT22 a perfect choice for individuals with weaker hands, allows the user to instantly check to see if a round is loaded, and can be used to quickly clean carbon fouling from the barrel at the range. Despite the small size of the PT22, its grips offer ample purchase and control over the weapon with its ergonomic finger grooves, a cutout area for the shooter’s thumb, and an extended base-plate on the magazine for the shooter’s pinky finger. Other features of the PT22 include a double-action-only trigger that offers a long but smooth pull, and rounded edges allows the pistol to be drawn without the risk of snagging on loose clothing or equipment.
