Description
The Tikka T3x Arctic rifle is almost an exact copy of the C19 rifle designed by Sako for Canadian Rangers. One of the world’s most unique military units– Canadian Rangers are a small volunteer component of the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve. Their primary duty is to conduct surveillance and patrol Canada’s most inhospitable, dangerous, and secluded areas. These modern frontiersmen also act as survival instructors for the Canadian military and are integral members of search and rescue operations in their AOR. All of that being said, when the Canadian Rangers requested a replacement for their faithful but worn Enfield No. 4 Mk1 rifles (after 70 years of service), the new rifle needed to be compact, powerful, and most importantly it needed to function reliably in temperatures as cold as -50° F. Tikka/Sako surpassed all those requirements when they designed the C19.
Only a few differences exist between the C19 and Tikka’s T3x Arctic, most notably where the rifles are manufactured (Arctic is made in Finland and the C19 is made in Canada) and some minor differences in stock color and stock features. Every component of the Tikka T3x Arctic/C19 was meticulously designed to be rugged and reliable in any environment or situation. Which makes sense, nobody wants to be staring down a 900 lb. polar bear or a pack of wolves while dealing with a malfunctioning rifle.
When it comes to a wilderness survival/scout rifle, there is no other rifle on the market that can meet—much less beat the quality and reliability of the Tikka T3x Arctic rifle.
