Description

The Tikka T3x Sporter: A rifle that is capable of performing at the highest level of competition while simultaneously functioning as a hunting rifle. The rifle features a laminated stock which is purpose built and practical when it comes to ergonomic characteristics and versatility. It has a 4-way adjustable cheek piece for optimal scope alignment, and an adjustable recoil pad to accommodate your preferred length of pull. The Tikka T3x Sporter also has various rail placements that allow the rifle to be carried biathlon style. It is practical, purpose-oriented and provides you with the same performance and accuracy of all Tikka T3x rifles.

The Tikka T3x is the next generation of the renowned T3 rifle. These new T3x rifles are built to the same standards that so many have come to rely on from the original T3, and continue to boast a hammer forged barrel, sturdy stocks, and smooth bolt actions. They still offer a 3-shot sub-MOA accuracy guarantee right out of the box, and will continue to represent the great value of the Tikka rifle line. Some new features that set the T3x apart from its older brother include the following:

  • Modular synthetic stock allows the pistol grip to be changed out for a more personalized and comfortable fit
  • Improved asymmetrical grip pattern and shape that will better accommodate grip in any condition
  • Upgraded recoil pad to mitigate felt recoil
  • Foam insert to lessen noise that is produced from the stock (not available in models with adjustable cheek piece)
  • Redesigned ejection port that creates easier single feeding through the ejection port
  • Improved rail attachment via an extra screw placement on top of the receiver for sturdier rail placement
  • A robust metallic bolt shroud to cover and shield the rear of the bolt body and firing pin
  • Steel recoil lug to decrease deformation even in larger calibers compared the aluminum ones in use in T3 rifles

Tikka has always been considered one of the best options when considering a rifle, and the T3x continues and enhances this legacy.

My first Tikka and I'm impressed with it. Bolt is butter smooth and accuracy is outstanding. Testing handloads from 155 gr to 175 gr bullets, this rifle would routinely fire three shot groups of under 0.5" MOA at 100 yds. Workmanship is excellent. Trigger is light and crisp. I haven't even tried to adjust it. What I don't like are the following: grip is a little big for my small hands. The magazine release is a hard to get to and it is not the easiest magazine to re-insert. My rifle likes bullets with a COAL of 2.850. This length appears to be a little too long to fit in the magazine. For my club competitions, I single feed and don't ever use the magazine. Single feeding with an empty magazine works smoothly. I don't mind the plastic bottom assembly. For my bench and prone shooting, the plastic is fine. I've put about 200 rounds through her and entered my first ever competition last week. Going up against experienced club marksman with custom rifles, my Tikka and I came away with first place. I was shocked. This was a testimony to the accuracy of the rifle and not my capability.
