Wanted a lightweight and inexpensive but quality Japanese made 30mm scope for a light, short range rifle. Have owned an earlier Trijicon and Steiner as well as heavier Vortex Razor and Nightforce. The glass and build quality on the Credo HX 1-4 is comparable to the high end scopes, excellent capped turrets, simple clean reticle with nice thin target crosshairs at center. Really perfect except the illumination is not useful on a sunny day. Any shade, against a green forest it’s ideal (bright green center cross) and pops. Still has nice black cross hairs in sun, no illumination. Nice forgiving eye box so being able to get on the scope from imperfect position is a big plus. The Steiner is now twice as expensive but daylight bright, like a mini Razor. For the price I can live with the lack of daylight brightness but if you want a 1x red dot experience you have to pay more. Regardless at $429 this scope is a bargain and it’ll keep your rifle lightweight.

Yet again, Euro Optic had the best price on this optic, so I couldn’t pass on it. It sits on an AR15 platform chambered in 556/223 designed for multi-use. Pros; Fantastic sale price, exceptional glass for the sale price, clear and crisp reticle, added throw lever, smooth magnification adjustment, appears to be a true 1 power, pretty robust build, nice eye focus adjustment, capped locking turret. Daylight bright illumination (to my eyes), can be used with both eyes open on lower settings (for me), illumination off in between each setting, good in low light without illumination, very good with illumination and the Trijicon name, reputation and warranty. No “torture test” performed because I paid for it with my own money and I’m sure Trijicon would not warranty a scope if they knew I purposely abused it just to see how tough it was. Cons; Expensive at full price, soft and quiet elevation and windage turrets, small eye box at max power… I have to fiddle around some to get proper sight picture, however others might not have that issue. Warranty not transferable and have to fill out form unlike the absolutely no hassle, no work, awesome, simple, best in the business Vortex warranty.

I put this scope on a Christensen Arms Model 14 Ridgeline in 450 Bushmaster for hunting deer. After 50 rounds for barrel break in, the scope was still spot on. The glass is super clear and I love the floating duplex reticle. The green illumination does get washed out in bright daylight, but I want it for dawn and dusk. It's a bargain for the quality. The magnification ring has just the right amount of tightness to turn and hold it's place. I would recommend the scope.
